The Republican National Committee Appoints It's First Black Chair

Photobucket

The RNC has just announced that former Lt. Governor of Maryland Michael Steele will serve as their chair. This is a huge deal for Republicans, especially considering that the Democratic National Committee has never had an African American serve as their chair.

Despite the fact that Michael Steele is a Black Republican, and I generally have a strong disdain for Black Republicans, I actually think he is a positive representative of our community. He's not like those racist self-hating Black Republicans that we see all through politics. He's pretty moderate and extremely intelligent...

How do you feel about this new face of the Republicans? Is it all for show or are they genuinely concerned with the Black community?
