This summer the Ashanti stans can rest assure they'll have something to yap about-- the R&B songstress is set to pump down the yellow-brick road as she make her stage debut as Dorothy in "The Wiz." The production is set to run from June 12 through July 5 at the New York City Center.
Ashanti , who previously played Dorothy in the made-for-television flim "The Muppets' Wizard of Oz," has yet to learn who will play alongside her as the roles of the cowardly lion, scarecrow and tin man.
Not too sure how excited I am about this. I mean, she not a 'phenomenal' actress...but I'm kinda glad Beyonce didn't run after this role. Im just sayin'.
