Say My Name, Not Beyonce's

She may have a famous sibling, but Solange Knowles want to make her own way. The songwriting singer is creating some buzz with a sophomore album that harkens back to the glory days of Motown. So stop mentioning Beyoncé, and check out this soul sister.
Presiding over a roomful of music journalists inside Geffen Records’ Manhattan office, powerhouse music impresario Mathew Knowles prepares to play some tracks from his youngest daughter’s sophomore album, SoLAngeL and the Hadly St.Dreams (Music World/ Geffen). But before doing so, he can’t resist telling a story about a young Solange Piaget Knowles.

“Years ago, we had theses shelves in our living room.” he says. “They where filled with trophies and plaques my older daughter, BeyoncĂ©, had won in different talent shows. I came home from work one day, and every last one of those trophies was broken and scattered across the room!” He smiles at the memory, shaking his head. "Solange broke them, every single one--and didn't deny it."
