H-Town Meets A-Town [KodakBoi & Diego]

The homie Diego came in town and wanted to chat it up about his new business ventures and new recordings. If you not familiar with Diego, he is the youngest brother of R&B famed group H-Town. We've done a few features on our good friend for the site. When he said he wanted to grab some food I decided we hit up Taco Mac. Despite the Mexican sounding name, “Taco Mac" offers what any other sports bar would - Tv's, burgers, wings and fries. The best burgers, wings and fries may I add! They have these wet lemon pepper wings (to die for) and for $7.95 you get 10 wings and a basket of their home-seasoned fries. They had so many TV's decked out on sports channels, but you couldn't possible try to watch all the sports, I wasn't worried anyway. I was to busy listening to Diego a.k.a Dakota Rivers, as he likes to call himself lol, tell me about his new ventures.

Luck Never Gives; It Only Lends.

WillyTee has been looking for a spot to gamble since we got here. He's been having this "Money won is twice as sweet as money earned" feeling going on, so we hit up the Seminole Hard Rock hotel & casino, where Anna Nicole passed, in Hollywood Fl to fill his empty void. I had a feeling he wanted to be in Vegas or some ish. Me personally...I don't see it for gambling, but I knew the Hard Rock would be the perfect spot for Will. With over 2,300 games (Video Poker, Blazing 7’s, Hot shots) & Vegas-Style Slots, I was sure this would put his money hunger at ease. And boy was I right! He sat at that damn machine like a kid in a candy store and had the time of his life.

I won't discuss what he won or what he lost, but I can beat my bottom dollar this is the sure way of getting nothing from something.

If you ever in the hollywood area, make sure you pass by the Seminole Hard Rock hotel & casino. All of their machines are coin-less and feature the state of the art "Easy Ticket" system, if any of that tickles your fancy.

A Mighty Good Sausage

A sausage consists of ground meat (and sometimes other animal parts), herbs and spices, and possibly other ingredients, generally packed in a casing, and preserved in some way, often by curing or smoking.

I don't know if it's because I miss my momma's home cooking or just my love for food, but one of my favortive things to eat are Garcia smoked sausages. I was basically raised on them. My mom use to buy them and feed them to us for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - not because we were cheap, because we had a decent amount of coins. But they were just that good, that you could compliment them with any meal, no matter the time of day. Being away from home, you forget how important the small things are, until you come back to them. Atlanta doesn't house Garcia sausages in there supermarkets, unfortunately they only distribute them to supermarkets throughout Florida. When I came back home I immediately ran to the refrig', saw the Garcia sausage package in the freezer, put them on the stove....and we (Will & I) have been having them for breakfast and throughout our day ever since. Will is now hooked on them! For our morning breakfast, we've been having them with 2 eggs, pancakes, hash browns and raisin bread. The perfect morning fix!

Miami Heat -ChrisBrownBeatEmDown- [Day 7]

We've been here for week! Boy oh boy, "Time flies when your having fun!"....and that's true.

Today I felt a lil ChrisBrownBeatEmDown ish, so I beat a bit#@ ass and went jet skiing. How nice, right!? Wrong, ya'll know I don't condone that....But all jokes aside, one of my favorite things to do while here in Miami is Jet Ski. Me and the homie A.C. took out the Jet ski and hit up the beach and surfaced around some of Miami's biggest star attractions - Star Island and Fisher Island. Oprah has a pad on Fisher Island and countless entertainers have houses on Star Island. We also took the Jet ski out to South Beach - where all the spring break college kids were.

Back to Chris Breezy- My day does sorta tie into the 19-year old R&B crooner, iKidduNot!! I spitefully , landed outside of Diddy's infamous Star Island mansion and took a picture clinching my fist at the camera, in the area remotely close to where Chris Brown took his infamous shot with the same gesture, weeks after his Feb. 8th incident with Rihanna....See the connection? This was the SAME mansion Chris Brown was stopped at 2 weeks ago have the time of his life !?!

It started raining, but you know I never let a lil wet wet put a damper in my day. I had a Fu@king blast!

We Had To Find Peace Of Mind

Relaxation - the state of being free from tension and anxiety.


There's nothing more fun & relaxing than laying on the beach with a Call-a-Cab and a Mojito at 1 o' clock in the afternoon. Talk about peace of mind! Since being in the Sin City, Will & I have been on the go, none stop. And tho I'm a city boy at heart, I can't stand the hustle and bustle of big cities. We took a day off day and spent it on South Beach. Will was all hitting up the beach to get that tan. I wasn't seeing it for that tho, so I came prepared with sun block, ready to fight the uv rays. I mean, I was blessed with a complexion to die for....why damage it with the sun. Oh and Will....that was sold seperately by the way!




After we got it in at the beach, we did it true Miami style and hit up Latino Cafe (Biscanye) and put the business on a cuban styled sandwich. You can not hit up the M-I-A and leave without grabbing a cuban sandwich.

We Had To Call A Cab Last Night.

WillyTee and I just so happen to be part-time alcoholics. Being from Miami, I've pretty much experienced the night life scene to it's fullest. I've been telling WillyTee whenever we go to Miami, the first place we have to hit up is the most go-to-bar on the beach, Wet Willie's. Wet Willie's serves some of the greatest frozen daiquiris (loaded w/ alcohol,) I've ever had, with a beach view to die for. You sit upstairs on the balcony, overlooking Ocean Dr.....or sit outside, where you can view every hood star and/or scallywag walking down the strip, all while getting wasted! You might even catch a celeb or two. Wet Willie's is always filled with party animals, like myself and Willy- this can be a plus or minus depending of the type of person you are- But we fit in perfectly. When I go to WW I usually grab a Call-a-Cab with a mix of Shock Treatment - the best way to get drunk quicker while chilling on the beach. 2 drinks of these and your done! You will definitely be ready to call that cab to get you home.


So we called up a few friends and headed to this lush spot. This time around I didn't go with my normal drink; Will & I both went for a Call-a-Cab with a mix of Attitude Improvement, which was actually better than the Shock Treatment. WillyTee was actually surprised at how strong and good these drinks were, but nonetheless how affordable they were as well- $9 a pop. What really caught him by surpirse was how we were able to leave the freaking bar and walk around with our drinks on the beach! This is definitely a spot that we'll frequent on our stay. In fact, we actually just lengthened our trip - we'll be here for another week. If your ever in Miami, and need a quick fix, the bar is located on Ocean Drive in South Beach, surrounding some of Miami's hottest clubs (Mansion, Fat Tuesdays). Just tell them Kodak sent you.

What's better than a vacation on South Beach with some yummy grain alcohol?....Just make sure you come with a designated driver.

WillyTee and I decided to getaway for the weekend. Miami was our choice of desire - It was a skip & a hop away. It's not only a vacation, but a business venture as well. You know we have been looking for the next "kidd" on the block and we have a person of interest here in Miami. So over the next few days we'll be meeting up with an individual and discussing major moves. We've covered Atlanta, and now we move on to Miami! In our first attempt, while were here, we'll be granting you access to some of the hottest spots South Beach has to offer, taking pictures, and ,of course, getting sloshed on the beach -smile-. When it comes to business, we like to tie a little fun into the mix to prevent boredom.

Travel Light; Think “Outside The Bag”

I dread going airports; I hate delays and I have no patience. But I always find myself at them mainly because, like I said, my patience is low, so I won't allow myself to do more than 4 hrs on anybody's road. Anything over that, buy me a plane ticket and I'll see you in a few hours. I use to travel heavy, but now airlines have started charging for each luggage, and I've learn to itemize my belongings & minimize my bags. It's all about one or two good carry-on's, at no charge! I want to give simple tips on what to include & what to leave out, when traveling to make your trip simpler.

• Check And Veirfy - First things first, do your homework! Don't pack before you check the Weather Channel. Verify the weather and temperature at your destination city to avoid bringing the wrong set of clothing. This will help you strategize & determine which travel clothes are sufficient enough to lay out & pack! I would hate to see someone in a bubble vest in 80 degree weather!?! When packing, triple folding is key!!!! I find it to be the best way to pack and still have room for more. Though you might have to sacrifice a few items, you'll find it worth your wild when bypassing others who are waiting on their luggage at the airport. 
  

• Grab Your Largest Bag Possible -  Bring a bag that you'll get the most out of, like an oversized duffle. Don't pack your bag to full capacity, leave room to spare. You always want to leave room for any extra items you might pick up on along the way. For me, I take "Kennedy" (my man bag) on long trips and it stores everything I can imagine. I could get 5 full outfits in that one bag. So while others may have a word, to two, to throw out about me carrying a man bag, I'm sitting back listening to my iPod, watching them struggle with all their luggage lol. Which brings me to my next point.
  

• MP3's - My iPod is a must-have item in the airport. It's light and convenient...and with less luggage to look after, you can close your eyes at the airport and let your music take you to another place, U.K. perhaps? Make a playlist that will have you content and at ease. My travel playlist [ titled- "Out Of Space"] takes me to another world...so it's like I'm always traveling to several different places at once. 
  

• Two Is Better Than One - Try to bring at lease two pairs of shoes, wearing the most convenient pair on the plane and packing the other pair. In most cases, two shoes will do! If you are that person who wears a different shoe/sneaker with every outfit, play it smart and tightly store your socks and boxers/briefs INSIDE your shoes, increasing space in your bag for the extra kicks.
  

• Zip it Up! - Take all must-have hygiene products with you & pack them all in one bag. If you like to travel in style, Christian Dior has this ‘logo clear plastic shoulder bag’ which is used for carry on baggage's and it's great. I believe most airport security rules state liquids must be 3 oz. or less. The idea is to save time by having liquids visible in a separate bag, so your not held up at security gates. Make sure to remove excess air from the plastic bag - It's all about extra space remember!?!
  

With these simple tips & only carry-on luggage, you'll have others gagging, while their still waiting for their checked luggage.


Keep in mind: LESS IS MORE!

You'll have less to lose, less to be stolen, less to pack and unpack...and most importantly, less to worry about.

Divorce

There were times when I had to stay to myself. Many surround me, but they only call on me for help. I had to sit myself down to realize this. I figured out that friends come, and friends go. I sometimes wonder how long will it last, and you know what? I've come to the conclusion that sometimes we'll never know, till they turn on you, they plan their attack, and once it's too late we find out the knifes in our back. The best way to tackle unneeded stress is to divorce yourself...divorce yourself before it's too late. Listen to what I say, . divorce yourself before a part of you dies. I feel it's needed to divorce yourself from some people, places, and things....If divorce is right, if divorce is wrong, I'll do what I want too move along.

A close friend expressed to me very concretely, that you have to divorce yourself away from friends, even family, who are not causing an impact on your life! And he is right, people sometimes hinder you from being all you are set out to be. Cut them off! You know those friends/family who only call you when they need something, but always forget to call when it's your birthday....Or those friends/family who call you to borrow $20 and you never hear back from them!?! Get rid of the pitts weight and put rocs by the door! I ask myself "how can I feel safe when I'm surrounded by snakes?". You don't have to be married to get a divorce, it's more of a mental thing...I can't express it enough, divorce yourself from all negative people, places and things. Begin to surround yourself with the positive...with people who have the same hustle as you and you'll see the difference!

So I ask, Is divorce is right, is it wrong?... I don't know, but I'll do what I want too move along. I'll move along, even if I'm alone!

Im On Vocal Rest....

Yes, I know what your thinking, ''Dang, that boy can sing too?!?!?''. Now, I have many talents, but singing aint one of them. Truth of the matter is I have this thing called Laryngitis, its where you over use your voice box, which causes you to have mild horseness in your voice, leaving your voice unrecognized. So people have been calling my phone right...& I've been sending them straight to voicemail! Shady you say? Not at all...Im serious, Im on that Mariah Carey shit!! This voice is calling for a break. Its damn near gone. And it's been challenging, cause Im trying to live up to my resolution that I set for myself (as far as communication w/ peers),so I've been on my text game shooting everyone a text, which is just as good as a call if you ask me, until I fully recover. Can you believe people have been texting me about things on KidduNot? lol...if you are attempting to hit me up about anything on here, don't! Just drop a comment in the comment section, that's what its there for. My text inbox on my phone is the wrong one. It aint calling for much, just drop a line! But back to this whole sick thing, it all started with a cold & now its got the best of me! And my voice is gone. Im so over it...I've tried everything from working out(to sweat the cold off) to medicine. I've tried hot tea & honey, that shit didn't work, I've tried that ol'grandma remedy' you know the one with the whiskey? Even that didn't work. I've run out of solutions! Any of you got some ol country ass remedies for ya boy KB? This is not a great way to start off the year, trust me. I feel horrible!

My New Years Resolutions....Will I Live Up?

Resolutions are always made and broken very quickly, I can atest to this. I never live up. 2009 will be different for me I hope. Im gonna try to stick to mine! I usually just jot em down in this big head of mine, this time I'm writing them down. So with no time to waste, here they go!

-Cut back on drinking

-Go to the gym and stop wasting my gym membership

-Cut back on fast food, and cook more

-Work on my trust issues

-Take my site to the next level

-Communicate better with my peers

I'm telling you, if I work on these things I'll be a better person in '09. I know cooking is a major issue for me. I eat out all the time, simply because it's fast and I don't have to wait. I hate being in the kitchen, it's just not for me. But I'm doing things different this year. Communication is my biggest issue tho, as people say. I say ''I'll call you back'', and never do. Not because its on purpose, but because I be some on busy type ish. So that I'll definitely be working on along with hitting up gym and all the other things that'll make me smile at year's end once accomplished!

New Year, New Me...Nerd Chic!

Last night I brought in 2009 downtown in Atlanta with a couple of friends, bottles of champagne, and my new look. Every New year I switch up my look...I switch it up twice a year pretty much, at the start and somewhere towards middle of the year, basically whenever I get tired of the look I started at the top.
