So I Guess It's Official: MTV Features Janet Jackson Again
I can't even remember the last time that Janet Jackson graced the stage of the MTV VMAs. I know they really haven't used her since Nipplegate. However, things have changed for Miss. Jackson - who has won 9 VMAs throughout her career. This Sunday Semptember 13, Janet Jackson will be opening the VMAs with a tribute to her late brother, Michael Jackson.
Other performers include: Beyonce, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Pink, Taylor Swift and Muse.
Both Lady Gaga and Beyonce are tied at 9 nominations, including nods for Video of the Year and Best Female Video. Also, Britney Spears has 7 nominations (and that's 7 too many with her stiff dancing a**). Eminem, Kanye West, & Coldplay each have 4 nominations.
In my opinion, MTV is way worse than BET on almost every level of buffoonery. They fact they refused to accept that Britney Spears hasn't made a good video since "Toxic" in 2004, or how they still consider Eminem's music relevant proves that they're nothing but a bunch of out of touch suits. They used to take the lead in pop culture, but now they just follow; SMH... Plus, who actually thinks Russell Brand (the host from this year and last year) is funny?
Anyways, I might actually have to watch the show this year. For once, the performances might be worthwhile. Almost all of their performers consistently shut it down on the stage.
