The Last Of A Dynasty

Photobucket

Yesterday, Senator Ted Kennedy lost his battle with Brain Cancer. The youngest brother of President John F. Kennedy and Presidential Candidate Senator Bobby Kennedy, Ted grew to become one of the most influential members of the United States Government. Ted Kennedy was a member of the U.S. Senate for over 40 years, and in that time, he tremendously impacted the politics of this nation. His fight for equal rights for all Americans, especially Blacks and the socioeconomically oppressed, has gone almost unparalleled.

I daresay that without his support, we might never have realized the dream of having a Black president. Ted Kennedy was one of the first supporters of Barack Obama's campaign for presidency. In fact, he jumped on the bandwagon back when Hillary was the projected winner of the Democratic Presidential Nomination.

Despite the title of this post, the Kennedy Dynasty will never die. Through the work of the upcoming generations of the Kennedy family who are already becoming involved in politics and the altruism and humanism that the Kennedy family has instilled in people like me who aspire to make a change in this world, the legacies of John, Robert, & Ted Kennedy will never die.
