Whitney On Her Retreat From The Public Eye: “I was just ready to lay back and raise my daughter and just watch her grow and nurture her. And my mother’s getting older. I wanted to spend more time with my mom [because during] most of my 20s and 30s, [I] was dealing with making records and traveling the world and being this thing — icon, you know — whatever this has turned into.”

We Won't Support Leakage.
Video: Jay-Z Talks BP3 Leak
“I may be the most bootlegged artist in history. It’s a preview. I’m excited for people to hear the album. I’m very proud of the work I’ve done, so enjoy it.” - Jay-Z
It's Here...
The Blueprint 3, the 11th studio album from Hip Hop legend Jay-Z, just leaked today. Although you won't get any d.l.s (download links) on KiDDuNot, with a good Google search, you could easily steal a copy of one of the most highly-anticipated albums of our generation.
Nobody is safe in 2009 from having their albums leaked. I use to think that things were hard for artists back in the day when everyone with a CD Burner would copy albums for their friends. As soon as one person bought the album, everyone on the Block had a copy. Now it's only gotten worse!!! No one even needs to buy the CD to burn it, and you get fresh music weeks before it hits the stores. But hey... I ain't complainin'.
Question of the moment: Should artists really trip about people bootlegging their music? One on hand, they barely make money off of album sales anyways, and even if they did, Jay-Z would definitely not need my couple of dollars. S***! I GOT LOANS TO PAY BACK!
On the other hand, it takes album sales to maintain a record contract. Of course Jay-Z doesn't have to worry about this, because he has his own empire, but a lot of artists will never get the chance to blow up because they get dropped after one flop album that everyone downloaded.
What's your take?

World Tour.
PressPlay: Wale (Feat. Jazmine Sullivan) - World Tour (Prod. by Cool & Dre)
Jazmine Sullivan has been killin' every track she's been featured on...and this track is no different! Wale, proving that he is cut out for this game, grabed the R&B soul singer to lace the chorus to his record "World Tour."
I feel Jaz is the voice our time, the voice of our people! She gives me that ol' school Mary vibe...

Final Destination.
I hate to be the barrier of bad news, but I just got official word that DJ AM, who survived a deadly plane crash last year with Travis Barker, has died from what investigators feel was a possible drug overdose.
According to the TMZ reports, a friend of AM's tried to reach him, but after no luck for 2 days, he called the police. The police knocked down his door to find a shirtless AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, dead--surrounded by pill bottles and a crack pipe.
He was found this afternoon around approximately 5:20pm in his Manhattan Apartment.
Our prayers go out to the Goldstein family! R.I.P. DJ AM!
QB Vs. Faith
We stopped doing the gossip thing here a long time ago. Back in July we heard a story of Lil' Kim & Faith clashing heads at Diddy's White party in L.A., and there were speculation that the two women got into a fight of some sort. Either party --Kim nor Faith-- have yet to spoke on the ordeal...So neither did we. In this video, Choke No Joke (who was present at the time) breaks his silence & gives us play-by-play details on what went down between Lil Kim & Faith that day.

Spotted: Serena Williams at Madame Tussauds in New York
Serena Williams attended the unveiling of her wax figure at Madame Tussauds in New York City on Thursday, and I'm pretty sure she wasn't all that pleased. For starters, one arm is bigger than the other...and those lips...those aren't even her lips! I'm not trying to nitpick, I'm just sayin tho...my opinion.
This Could Be The Life That You Live...
Spotted: Swizz Beatz & Alicia Keys in St. Tropez
Legally Swizz is still married to Mashonda (R&B singer], but that didn't stop him from dining with Alicia Keys recently. The producer & his boo were spotted having what seemed to be intimate dinner for two in St. Tropez, France on Wednesday. While many folks are dying to call Miss Keys a homewrecker, I refuse to give comment because I'm pretty sure there are two sides to every story...well actually 3, but I don't have time to into all that.
I'll sit and to listen to your thoughts, or rants, about this situation tho...Please do tell!
"I built this house
With my own hands
And she just came
And burnt the plans
She found the safe
And cracked the code
She grabbed the goods
And hit the road" -- Hellogoodbye

glam+ROC= FAB
Releasing their 10th anniversary capsule collection, the Rocawear brand partnered with HoneyMag.com to formulate a "glamROC" event celebrated at Atlanta’s very own, The Glam Bar! I knew it would be a highly anticipated affair when half of Twitter caught wind of the event and made it kind of a big deal...and indeed it was! It was a place where the ladies felt glamorous and the men...well let's just say they enjoyed the open bar & being around all the gorgeous women!!
Celebs packed the black carpet including Teyana Taylor, Brian Michael-Cox, RichGirl, Sammie, & Drummer Boy just to name a few...Even some top Atlanta bloggers joined the scene to witness the brand release it's collection. Necole Bitchie, Freddy-O, Charles Wade (Moda Mouth), Governed By Loyalty, Gyant, Marquis Phifer of LateBoots, Concrete Loop, and of course KidduNot were all on hand for the wonderful occasion.
The set up was actually nice, it was sorta like a "style & beauty" lounge set up inside the venue, where ladies got pampered as if it were Valentines day-- Hair, nails, make-up....you name it, you could have gotten it done!

Destiny's Child -- Who? Music Souclhild -- What?
The days where Black people were the only ones who could seriously blow are long gone. These two Pacific Islanders (they're not Asians lol) sound phenomenal singing Destiny's Child's "Cater 2 U"
Both of these dudes are really gifted. Check out the guy on the left with the guitar, Passion, playing the keys and singing "So Beautiful" by Musiq Souldchild below:

It's Late In Atlanta...Goodnight!
Kiddunot has just got its hands on the most entertaining phone call, taped live!
Apparently a few weeks ago (before the Target strangle) Nene of Real Housewives of Atlanta stopped by "Watch What Happens Live" on Bravo with Andy Cohen, after an episode of the show to speak about her book. It seems Kim's name has been ran through a couple pages, & decides to call in from the "Bahamas" to confront the longtime frienemy.
PRESSPLAY... & watch as these ladies air-out all their dirty laundry on live TV!
These Housewives are heating up some DRAMA this season... & we can't get enough of it!

Throwback Thursday: VH1's Divas Live (The Original Run)
Some of the Throwback Thursday posts that we write deal with things that are dead and gone, and others deal with things that are alive but have a strong and notable history. Today's subject is a little bit of both. VH1 Divas Live originally began airing in 1998 and ran annually until 2004. It's technically back and will debut on VH1 on September 17th, but many beg the question: Is it really back or is the franchise, for all intended purposes, dead?
My opinion: It's dead.
Divas live used to be one of the pinnacles of female performance. If you were not in the game for at least 10 years, you were not invited, unless you were the Sugar-Honey-Iced-Tea. Let me expound on that...
You always had some serious and uncontested legends in the building, like:
Aretha Franklin, Pat Benetar, Patti Labelle, Chaka Kahn, Cher, Donna Summer, Gladys Knight, Elton John, etc.
Some younger legends who were still in the game:
Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Whitney Houston, Shania Twain, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Faith Hill, etc.
And then there were the up-and-coming greats who were somewhat new to the industry, but had already made a mark:
Destiny's Child, Beyoncé (as a solo artist), LeAnn Rhymes, Brandy, Jessica Simpson, LeAnn Rhymes, Jill Scott, Jewel, etc.
Any combination of these performers live in one night will provide a phenomenal experience. But what I really miss about Divas Live are the surprise collaborations, like the ones below:
Proceed with caution, because this is some s*** you will never hear on any awards show, concert, tribute, etc.
Chaka Kahn and Whitney Houston - "I'm Every Woman"
Brandy & Faith Hill - "Everything I Do, I Do It For You"
Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Shania Twain, and Carole King - "You Make Me Feel (Like A Natural Woman)"
Patti Labelle & Cyndi Lauper - "Time After Time"
This year the guests include Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Jordin Sparks, and Leona Lewis...
Now that's a party I'll definitely be tardy for
